This traditional trail was once the main gateway for climbers and trekkers before the advent of flights to Lukla. Starting from the lower altitudes of Jiri, the trek gradually ascends through charming Sherpa villages, terraced fields, and dense forests, offering an immersive cultural and natural experience.

This route is longer and more challenging than the usual Lukla flight option, making it ideal for trekkers who want a deeper connection with local life and spectacular Himalayan scenery, including views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival, airport pickup, and trek briefing.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1,900m) – 7–8 hours

Scenic drive through rural villages and terraced farmland.

Day 3: Trek from Jiri to Bhandar (2,230m) – 6–7 hours

Trek through forests and traditional villages.

Day 4: Trek from Bhandar to Sete (2,575m) – 6 hours

Follow the trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River.

Day 5: Trek from Sete to Nunthala (2,150m) – 6 hours

Descend and cross suspension bridges in the valley.

Day 6: Trek from Nunthala to Bupsa (2,380m) – 5 hours

Trek through farmland and peaceful Sherpa settlements.

Day 7: Trek from Bupsa to Junbesi (2,700m) – 5 hours

Day 13: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Day 14: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m) – 5 hours

Begin descent towards lower altitudes.
