📌 Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is one of the most iconic and scenic treks in Nepal, offering a stunning blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and Himalayan adventure. The trail takes you deep into the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by some of the world’s highest peaks such as Annapurna I (8,091m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri.
This moderately challenging trek is perfect for beginners and experienced hikers alike. Along the way, you will pass through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, lush rhododendron forests, terraced farmlands, and river valleys – all leading up to the breathtaking amphitheater of the Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters.
🗓️ Suggested Itinerary – 10 Days
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
- Airport pickup and hotel transfer
- Trek briefing and preparation
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (820m) – 6-7 hours
- Scenic drive with views of rivers, countryside, and mountains
- Overnight in Pokhara
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m) – 4 hours
- Trek starts through Birethanti and village trails
- Overnight at Tikhedhunga
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2,860m) – 6 hours
- Climb stone steps to Ulleri and walk through rhododendron forests
Day 5: Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), trek to Tadapani (2,630m) – 6 hours
- Sunrise view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from Poon Hill
- Continue trek to Tadapani
Day 6: Trek to Chhomrong (2,170m) – 5 hours
- Descend and ascend through beautiful valleys and villages
Day 7: Trek to Himalaya Hotel (2,920m) – 6 hours
- Trek through Bamboo and Dovan along the Modi River
Day 8: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) – 6 hours
- Reach the final destination surrounded by towering snow peaks
Day 9: Trek back to Bamboo or Jhinu Danda – 6 hours
- Optional visit to natural hot springs in Jhinu Danda
Day 10: Trek to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara
- Final day of the trek
- Drive back to Pokhara and relax
